Insights That Matter: Inclusion & Equality Index

August 10, 2020

diversity-inclusionInclusion and equality are top-of-mind for many these days, especially inclusion and equality at work. Talmetrix prides itself on considering diversity and inclusion in everything we do - research, solutions advisory, and product development. We aren't perfect, but strive to be a model and partner for our clients, which is why we’ve included the Inclusion and Equality Index (IEI for short) into our solutions playbook.

When researching equity, inclusion, and equality in the workplace, we found that these concepts are woven into all employee experiences and aren’t stand-alone concepts - when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. An employee’s relationship with their manager has elements of inclusion woven in, equality in career experience, and equity in satisfaction with pay and role. To understand how equitable, equal, and inclusive you are as an organization, it starts by thinking about the holistic employee experience.

The IEI provides additional insight into equity, equality, and inclusion within the experiences of your employees and (BONUS) it’s included in our IMPACT Engagement Survey. The IEI is composed of 13 survey questions already included in the Talmetrix IMPACT Engagement Survey, meaning you can launch a survey to understand what’s driving engagement and retention in your organization plus get a peek at how your employees are experiencing equality, equity, and inclusion at work.

The IEI is multi-purposed; it can be used as a discovery point or a call to action for deeper investigation. It can be used to spark conversation or can be used as a pulse check over time. No matter how you decide to utilize this tool, the most important thing is that you are intentionally listening, asking, and responding. This is what we ultimately want for our clients: intentionality. Genuine, honest, and sometimes tough conversations with employees are key to continuous improvement. Those conversations need a starting point and the IEI can help spark these much-needed conversations.
